Medicare Supplemental
For beneficiaries enrolled in Medicare Part B
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) offers dependable supplemental coverage for people age 65 and older. BCBSNC offers nine of the 10 Medicare supplemental plans, so applicants can choose the one that best fits their needs and their budget.
On every plan, members can select their own doctor or visit any Medicare-participating hospital. In most cases, BCBSNC will handle Medicare Part A and Part B claims and supplemental claims automatically.
Medicare Supplemental members have access to Blue ValuesSM, a family of free discount programs. Members are eligible for discounts of up to 60% on health related products and services, such as eyeglasses, hearing aids, prescription drugs1 and more. In addition, members can participate in Blue PointsSM, BCBSNC’s physical activity incentive program, and earn prizes just for being active.
Once enrolled, members lock in their entry age rate forever. Rate adjustments will only be made due to medical inflation.
